OER E Designations (NYC)
Expert support for New York City Office of Environmental Remediation E Designations — from initial assessment through regulatory closure.
In New York City, an E Designation is placed on properties during the ULURP (Uniform Land Use Review Procedure) process to indicate the presence of a potential environmental concern. Properties with E Designations must complete specific OER-approved assessments and investigations before development can proceed.
Tetra Consultants has deep experience navigating the NYC OER E Designation program. We have completed Phase I and Phase II assessments, subsurface investigations, and remediation programs for E-Designated properties across the five boroughs.
Whether your property has a Hazardous Materials E Designation, an Air Quality designation, or a Noise designation with environmental components, our team will guide you through the OER process efficiently and cost-effectively.

About E Designations
E Designations are placed on NYC tax lots through ULURP and are administered by the NYC Office of Environmental Remediation (OER).
They require completion of an OER-approved environmental review before a building permit can be issued.
